  • That is a great question, and you are certainly not the only one wondering this.

Our answer is yes and here is why. Our clinical trainees go through an extensive hiring process and are selected based on their education, previous training, experience in the field of counselling, their maturity, rich lived experience. During their internship, they undergo intensive continuous training and supervision, from our experienced supervisor, their professors, and from our clinic. Our intern therapists are eager to become a great therapist. This makes them motivated, hence giving you the best possible care.

Kaitlyn and Caroline are our master-level intern and is already a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario.

    1. Quality care for a reduced fee. If anything, you would probably be getting better care from seeing and intern therapist. Why? They are getting close supervision from their professors and supervisors. They are aware of the latest techniques and tools to help you. And they are motivated to grow as a therapist.

    2. You are receiving treatment that has been approved by the intern, their professors, and their supervisors (all at a reduced cost).

    3. You are getting a fresh new perspective. They have not been biased and are not assuming things based on past clients.

  • Absolutely!

We know how hard it is to come across a therapist who you vibe with and who is competent. Once our therapist intern finishes their training after 6-8 months, you can continue seeing them as an associate therapist within our practice.

However, please note that the session rate will be adjusted to reflect their new associate therapist status.

If you prefer to remain at your current rate, you can choose to work with a new intern therapist beginning their practicum journey.

Your intern therapist will ensure this is a smooth transition for you regardless of your decision.

  • Online therapy is as effective as in person therapy. What is most important with any format of therapy is the strong therapeutic relationship between you and your therapist. Online therapy is a good option when coming in-person is not feasible, when you have dependents at home, and it is also more convenient.

At The Therapeutic Way, we offer online therapy and therapy by phone from the convenience of your home. Click here to learn more about our online therapy.
